Xceptor launches AI rule builder and live tester

Xceptor launched an AI Reconciliation Rule Builder and Live Tester in its Reconciliations SaaS to auto-generate and test rules from sample data, cutting validation time by more than 50% in internal tests.

Xceptor has added an AI Reconciliation Rule Builder and a Live Tester to its Reconciliations SaaS. The features automatically generate matching and comparison rules from uploaded sample files and run those rules against the same data before deployment. Internal tests showed rule validation time fell by more than half.

The Rule Builder uses machine learning together with Xceptor’s proprietary evaluation logic to map fields and propose matching logic. The Live Tester applies proposed rules in a controlled environment so teams can review results, refine rules and correct issues before moving them into production. Xceptor describes the workflow as human-in-the-loop, with the system producing suggestions and business users keeping final control over logic and governance.

Xceptor said the tools are aimed at capital markets operations facing growing data volumes and shorter settlement cycles, where configuring and deploying reconciliation controls is a common bottleneck. The company said the features reduce manual configuration and testing work and allow non-technical staff to build and validate reconciliation rules more quickly.

John Bevil, Senior Product Manager for Reconciliations at Xceptor, commented: “Reconciliation logic needs to be transparent, defensible, and consistently applied. Building this manually at scale places unsustainable pressure on operations teams and leaves too much room for error. Our AI Builder removes the hardest part — mapping and configuring rules from scratch — and enables users to test and validate those rules inline before anything goes live.”

Vinod Jain, founder of industry research firm Adkrest, noted gaps in data filtering, matching logic and incomplete testing limit reconciliation effectiveness. He added that AI can generate a wider range of test scenarios against the rule engine and reconciliation process, reducing manual code validation and repetitive test cycles.

Xceptor said the new tools are initially available within its Reconciliations SaaS and are targeted at operations teams in capital markets. The company provides data automation tools to financial firms and said the features are designed to make reconciliation logic more consistent and easier to maintain as volumes and complexity increase.
