WisdomTree launches Space Economy UCITS ETF across Europe

WisdomTree has launched the WisdomTree Space Economy UCITS ETF (WSPC), a 0.50% TER fund tracking a proprietary index; listed on Xetra, Borsa Italiana, Euronext Paris and SIX; LSE listing 5 June 2026.

WisdomTree has launched the WisdomTree Space Economy UCITS ETF (WSPC) with a total expense ratio of 0.50%. The fund tracks the WisdomTree Space Economy UCITS Index and is listed on Xetra, Borsa Italiana, Euronext Paris and the SIX Swiss Exchange. A London Stock Exchange listing is scheduled for 5 June 2026.

The ETF targets companies involved in activities that make up the space economy. The index includes firms that enable access to space and support space operations through launch, orbital and deep-space infrastructure; companies that deliver commercial space-based services and connectivity; firms that supply defence capabilities related to space; and businesses developing emerging space-focused and space-enabled technologies.

The index groups holdings into four verticals: launches and infrastructure, commercial space, defence space and emerging technologies. WisdomTree applies a proprietary framework that combines thematic and company-level scoring to select and weight companies. Holdings are rebalanced quarterly to reflect changes in theme relevance and company profiles.

WisdomTree cited technological advances, lower launch costs, wider commercial use cases and renewed government investment as drivers of interest in the sector. The firm noted that falling access costs and more efficient launch systems broaden opportunities across the value chain for both established aerospace companies and specialised innovators.

The firm identified space-enabled services such as earth observation, geospatial intelligence, navigation and communications as being integrated into industries including agriculture, logistics, climate monitoring and critical infrastructure. WisdomTree also highlighted emerging areas such as in-orbit manufacturing, on-orbit servicing and space-based data infrastructure as potential future markets.

Pierre Debru, head of research, Europe at WisdomTree, commented: “Space is transitioning from a niche, government-led domain into a broader economic ecosystem with expanding commercial and strategic importance. A defining milestone in this shift could come with the SpaceX IPO, which is widely expected to attract unprecedented investor attention and further accelerate mainstream participation in the space economy. This ETF is designed to capture that transformation through a diversified and forward-looking approach to investing in the space economy.”

Alexis Marinof, CEO, Europe at WisdomTree, added: “Since launching our first thematic ETF in 2018, we have focused on developing differentiated strategies that provide investors with targeted exposure to transformative long-term themes that can add value to portfolios. This new ETF builds on our established thematic capabilities, providing a transparent and research-driven approach to access one of the most exciting frontiers of innovation. It also reinforces our commitment to offering investors a broad range of research-driven thematic exposures that can help meet evolving portfolio objectives.”

The ETF is structured as a UCITS vehicle and will report performance net of fees. WisdomTree stated the fund aims to reflect the price and yield performance of the underlying index before fees and expenses.
