Wirex integrates Tempo for enterprise stablecoin cards

Wirex integrated Tempo as a settlement layer, enabling partners to launch enterprise stablecoin-backed card programs that settle on Tempo’s fast, private payments network.

Wirex has integrated Tempo as a settlement layer on its platform, allowing partners to launch enterprise stablecoin-backed card programs that settle on Tempo’s network. The integration is live and lets Wirex customers route stablecoin settlement through Tempo while using Wirex’s regulated card issuance and wallet services.

The integration connects Wirex’s card infrastructure, which issues cards under its own Visa and Mastercard principal memberships, with Tempo’s payment-focused blockchain. The combined stack provides a single integration for regulated card issuance, wallets, compliance and stablecoin settlement, with Tempo supplying the settlement rails and implementation support.

Tempo offers Stablecoin Advisory services and forward-deployed engineers who work with customers to design card and settlement flows, select infrastructure partners and move prototypes into production. Tempo counts enterprises including DoorDash, Deel and Klarna among its clients.

Tempo’s network finalizes transactions in under a second, runs on dedicated payment capacity and charges predictable sub-cent fees. Tempo Zones keep balances and transactions private while allowing selective disclosure for audits and compliance. Network fees are paid in stablecoins, so programs do not need a separate gas token. The network also delivers structured transaction data to help reconcile funds and settlement records.

Wirex reported that its infrastructure reached $1 billion in annualized on-chain volume 131 days after launch and doubled that volume 110 days later.

‘It’s great to offer Tempo as a key settlement layer for enterprise stablecoin card programs integrating with Wirex’s infrastructure. As a purpose-built blockchain for stablecoin payments at scale, Tempo gives our partners fast, predictable and private settlement, while Tempo’s advisory and engineering teams help them move from integration to production faster.’ — Daniel Rowlands, General Manager, Wirex.

‘Wirex gives companies building on Tempo a straightforward way to launch stablecoin-backed card programs. Customers can combine Wirex’s regulated card infrastructure with Tempo’s settlement network and hands-on support to bring new products to market.’ — Ani Narayan, Go-to-Market, Tempo.

Wirex and Tempo plan to continue working together to onboard more fintechs and enterprise card programs to Tempo’s network.
