Vermiculus appoints new COO and deputy CEO
Vermiculus Financial Technology named Chris Dorougidenis chief operating officer and Henrik Rouet-Leduc deputy CEO to support international expansion and product development.
The board and chief executive appointed Chris Dorougidenis as chief operating officer and Henrik Rouet-Leduc as deputy CEO. Both are internal appointments and will support the company’s international expansion and product work in trading, clearing and central securities depository (CSD) operations.
Dorougidenis brings more than 15 years of experience in financial technology, including roles in trading systems and capital markets infrastructure. He most recently worked at Vermiculus as a project manager, participating in the delivery of complex customer programmes and work on the company’s operational model. As COO he will be responsible for strengthening operational processes and supporting delivery across customer engagements.
Rouet-Leduc joined Vermiculus in 2022 and has focused on business development, customer delivery and strategic growth. He acted as project manager on Vermiculus’ largest customer engagement and supported the firm’s expansion efforts. His prior experience includes management consulting at McKinsey & Company and founding several Stockholm-based start-ups. In the deputy CEO role he will work on commercial strategy and support the company’s next phase of growth.
Vermiculus said it is expanding its product portfolio for trading, clearing and CSD operations. The company’s solutions use a microservice-based architecture intended to provide performance, resilience and scalability for exchanges, clearing houses and central securities depositories. The firm did not disclose a timetable for further executive changes or additional hires linked to these appointments.
Dorougidenis commented: “I am genuinely humbled by this appointment. Vermiculus solutions are delivered by great people, and I am fortunate to work alongside such talented colleagues. I look forward to strengthening how we operate as we grow and to delivering value for our clients and the markets we serve.” Rouet-Leduc added: “I am grateful for the opportunity to continue building Vermiculus. The team’s expertise and drive position us to support clients as market infrastructures modernize, and I am excited to help lead the company through its next phase of growth.” Taraneh Derayati, Vermiculus’ CEO, noted the two executives have grown with the company, understand its culture and values, and have shown commitment to customers and teams.
