Vanguard launches four US-focused UCITS ETFs
Vanguard launched four US-focused UCITS ETFs tracking Russell indexes, to list on major European exchanges with fees of 16–20 basis points.
On July 9, 2026 Vanguard launched four U.S.-focused UCITS ETFs: Vanguard Russell 1000 U.S. Growth UCITS ETF, Vanguard Russell 1000 U.S. Value UCITS ETF, Vanguard Russell U.S. Mid-Cap UCITS ETF and Vanguard Russell 2000 U.S. Small-Cap UCITS ETF. The funds are set to list on the London Stock Exchange, Deutsche Börse, Euronext Amsterdam, Borsa Italiana and SIX Swiss Exchange.
Vanguard said the ETFs provide additional building blocks for European investors to adjust exposure to U.S. equities by style and company size. Ongoing charges are 0.16% for the Russell 1000 Growth and Russell 1000 Value funds, and 0.20% for the Russell U.S. Mid-Cap and Russell 2000 U.S. Small-Cap funds.
Each ETF tracks a Russell index that targets a specific segment of the U.S. market. The Russell 1000 Growth and Russell 1000 Value divide the largest 1,000 U.S. companies by growth and value characteristics. The Russell U.S. Mid-Cap focuses on mid-sized companies, while the Russell 2000 covers roughly 2,000 smaller U.S. companies in the small-cap market.
Claire Aley, head of Product and PRD Europe at Vanguard, wrote in the launch note that the U.S. equity market offers a wide range of opportunities. Aley said growth exposure can increase weight to technology and AI-related businesses, value can help diversify away from recent market leaders, and adding mid- and small-cap exposures provides further diversification tools.
Vanguard said the UCITS structure allows the funds to be distributed and traded across multiple European venues, enabling purchases in local markets and local currencies where listings permit. The company did not give a specific trading start date; each ETF will begin trading once the relevant exchange completes its listing process.
The announcement follows broader expansion by asset managers of low-cost ETFs that target specific segments of the U.S. equity market.
