Valour launches Smart Crypto Fund with Neuronomics AI

Valour has launched Smart Crypto Fund, a Cayman Islands-domiciled hedge fund managed by Swiss portfolio manager Neuronomics AG. The fund is registered with the Cayman Islands Monetary Authority and is aimed at professional and qualified investors. It is the first vehicle created under Valour Funds SPC, a wholly owned subsidiary of Valour, the digital asset investment products arm of DeFi Technologies.

Neuronomics will run an active strategy that relies on proprietary artificial intelligence models. The models analyze price, volume and other market data across multiple time horizons to produce trading signals. Those signals determine portfolio allocations and overall market exposure, and are programmed to reduce positions when signals weaken or when perceived risks increase.

Position sizes are set by predefined risk budgets, concentration limits and controls on aggregate exposure. Trading algorithms are selected with reference to liquidity and expected transaction costs to limit market impact during execution.

The fund uses separate specialist providers for administration, custody, banking, execution and audit. The Cayman segregated portfolio company structure allows multiple strategies to operate under a single legal entity while keeping assets and liabilities separate for each portfolio. Valour said the structure follows common institutional practice for actively managed digital-asset funds targeting institutional investors.

Dr. Michael Kometer, founder and CEO of Neuronomics, described the firm’s AI models as designed to identify relevant market signals from the large volume of data generated by digital-asset markets and to convert those forecasts into portfolio decisions.

Valour operates more than 100 digital-asset exchange-traded products. DeFi Technologies, Valour’s parent company, holds a minority stake in Neuronomics and also runs Stillman Digital, an institutional trading and liquidity platform, and DeFi Alpha, which pursues opportunistic trading, arbitrage and other capital-markets strategies. The Smart Crypto Fund provides an actively managed alternative to Valour’s existing passive ETP offerings for qualified investors.
