US Treasury Picks VTI; Columbia Threadneedle and Tema Update ETFs

Between June 25 and July 2, 2026, the US Treasury selected Vanguard Total Stock Market ETF (VTI) as an alternate option; Columbia Threadneedle rebalanced CT QR Active ETFs; Tema partnered with SemiAnalysis.

Between June 25 and July 2, 2026, three ETF issuers reported separate developments: the US Treasury Department selected Vanguard Total Stock Market ETF (VTI) as an alternate investment option; Columbia Threadneedle completed the first rebalancing of its CT QR Series Active ETFs; and Tema ETFs announced an exclusive partnership with research firm SemiAnalysis.

Vanguard announced on July 2 that the US Treasury chose VTI as an alternate investment option. Vanguard Total Stock Market ETF tracks the broad U.S. equity market and is used by investors seeking wide exposure to U.S. shares. Vanguard disclosed the Treasury’s selection in its July 2 update.

Columbia Threadneedle reported it completed the first scheduled rebalancing across its CT QR Series Active ETFs on July 2. The firm stated the rebalancing adjusted portfolio weights and holdings across the series to align the funds with their stated strategies and index parameters and described the work as routine portfolio maintenance after the series’ initial operating period.

Tema ETFs announced an exclusive partnership with SemiAnalysis, an independent research firm that focuses on semiconductors and AI infrastructure. Under the agreement, Tema will use SemiAnalysis research and expertise to help develop ETF products aimed at investors focused on semiconductor supply chains and companies supporting AI infrastructure.

VTI is among the largest ETFs by assets and offers broad U.S. equity exposure by tracking the total U.S. stock market. Rebalancing is a periodic process in which funds adjust weightings or security selection to match a fund’s mandate or target index. Partnerships between ETF issuers and specialist research firms provide research input for index construction and product development in targeted sectors.

No public quotes were included in the initial notices beyond the issuers’ announcements. Vanguard disclosed the Treasury selection, Columbia Threadneedle issued a statement on the rebalancing, and Tema published details of its new relationship with SemiAnalysis.
