US Treasury Adds VTI; CT, Tema Announce ETF Moves

June 25–July 2, 2026: The US Treasury added Vanguard Total Stock Market ETF (VTI) as an alternate investment. Columbia Threadneedle rebalanced CT QR Active ETFs. Tema teamed with SemiAnalysis.

On July 2, 2026, the US Treasury Department added Vanguard Total Stock Market ETF (VTI) to its list of alternate investment options. VTI provides broad exposure to U.S. equities across market capitalizations and is among the largest and most traded ETFs. The Treasury identified the fund by ticker and fund name and did not provide further operational details in its notice.

Also on July 2, Columbia Threadneedle Investments completed the first scheduled rebalancing of its CT QR Series Active ETFs. The firm adjusted holdings across the series to align each fund with its stated active-management objectives, including target exposures and risk profiles. The rebalancing is the first portfolio update since the series launched.

Tema ETFs announced an exclusive partnership with SemiAnalysis, an independent research firm that focuses on semiconductors and AI infrastructure. The agreement pairs SemiAnalysis sector research with the Tema ETF platform to develop products targeting semiconductor and AI-related companies. The initial announcement did not include launch dates or specifics on fund structures.

Public notices from the Treasury, Columbia Threadneedle and Tema contained brief statements and did not include direct quotes. The initial releases identified the actions and partnerships; additional details on implementation and timing were not provided.

ETFs continue to be used for both broad-market exposure and targeted sector strategies. Rebalancing is a routine process for active managers. Partnerships between ETF issuers and specialist research providers are a common approach to inform product development.
