Tudor Investment rebuilds Bitcoin ETF holdings

Tudor Investment increased its iShares Bitcoin Trust ETF to 688,529 shares (~$22.9M) at end‑June, adding 109,446 shares and cutting IBIT call option exposure to 148,000 shares.

Tudor Investment raised its holding in BlackRock’s iShares Bitcoin Trust (IBIT) to 688,529 shares, about $22.9 million, at the end of June, according to its latest 13F filing covering holdings as of June 30. The fund added 109,446 shares in the second quarter.

The filing shows the number of underlying shares represented by reported IBIT call options fell from 998,000 to 148,000. Put option holdings were maintained. Call options give the holder the right to buy the underlying asset at a set price before a set date; put options give the holder the right to sell under similar terms.

At the end of 2024, Tudor held more than 8 million IBIT shares, a position valued at about $427 million at that time. The current direct ETF position is smaller than the fund’s year‑end 2024 holding.

Paul Tudor Jones, the firm’s founder, disclosed in 2020 that he had allocated roughly 1% to 2% of assets to bitcoin. He has described bitcoin as a potential hedge against inflation alongside assets such as gold and equities.

The 13F filing indicates reduced options-linked exposure alongside increased direct ETF ownership in the second quarter. Institutional 13F filings provide a quarterly snapshot of reported equity and ETF holdings on the filing date.
