Tudor hires Mizuho fixed-income strategist for Dubai

Tudor has hired Jordan Rochester, Mizuho’s former head of fixed income strategy, as a fixed-income and FX strategist in Dubai, starting in late October or early November.

Tudor Investment Corporation has hired Jordan Rochester, previously head of fixed income strategy at Mizuho Bank, as a fixed-income and foreign-exchange strategist based in Dubai. He is expected to begin work in late October or early November, according to people familiar with the matter.

Rochester departed Mizuho earlier this month after under two years at the bank, where he helped build fixed income and currency research across Europe, the Middle East and Africa. At Tudor he will join the Dubai macro team to support research and trading in fixed income and FX.

Before joining Mizuho, Rochester worked as a foreign-exchange strategist at Nomura International. He was noted for his analysis of the UK’s departure from the European Union and has a track record of macro and rates calls, including a recommendation to short UK interest-rate futures at the start of US-Iran tensions earlier this year.

Tudor, founded by Paul Tudor Jones, opened a Dubai office in 2024 as part of an expansion of its global macro operations. The firm has been building its regional presence to increase local research and trading capabilities.

Rochester and a Tudor spokesperson declined to comment. The appointment was described by unnamed people with knowledge of the matter because it had not been publicly announced.
