Tudor Investment Corporation has hired Conor Taggart from alternative data provider Eagle Alpha as a data strategist. The role is to build and manage datasets used to support investment decisions. Taggart previously worked at Millennium.

He will focus on identifying, sourcing and developing datasets for the firm’s investment process, including evaluating data quality and making datasets available to trading teams.

Tudor declined to comment on the appointment.

The hire follows a pattern of professionals with data and analytics experience moving between hedge funds, specialist providers and proprietary trading firms. Firms continue to recruit staff who can convert non-traditional information into measurable investment signals.

Recruitments for data strategists are intended to support both systematic models and discretionary research by adding data discovery, validation and operational work.
