Trump Invites Nvidia CEO Jensen Huang on China Trip
President Trump invited Nvidia CEO Jensen Huang to join his China trip; Huang will board Air Force One in Anchorage amid U.S.-China chip export tensions.
Nvidia CEO Jensen Huang will join President Donald Trump’s delegation on the president’s trip to China. Huang traveled to Anchorage to board Air Force One for a stopover after receiving a late invitation from the president.
Nvidia issued a statement that “Huang is attending at the invitation of the president to support US objectives.” Huang was not on the original list of U.S. business leaders traveling with Trump.
U.S.-China tensions over semiconductor exports are a central issue surrounding the visit. Washington has placed controls on advanced AI processors; Nvidia has been affected by those curbs while obtaining limited approvals to sell some chips to China. Nvidia holds roughly an 80 to 85 percent revenue share of the AI accelerator market.
Financial filings show Nvidia reported about $216 billion in fiscal 2026 revenue, with data center sales near $197 billion and fourth-quarter revenue topping $68 billion. The company’s market value is reported near $5.3 trillion. After the announcement of Huang’s inclusion, Nvidia shares rose roughly 2 percent in after-hours trading.
U.S. and Chinese officials say the summit agenda will be broad but incremental, with a focus on preserving stability in bilateral relations. Talks are expected to cover economic dialogue structures and communication channels on trade and technology issues, and discussions may touch on the conflict in Iran.
Huang will be present in meetings where semiconductor export restrictions and economic ties are on the agenda. Any changes to U.S. export policy require government action; companies cannot alter those rules on their own.
