TreasurySpring hires Olivia Maguire as capital markets director
Olivia Maguire joins TreasurySpring as senior director of capital markets after 25 years at J.P. Morgan, where she managed sterling and euro liquidity funds totaling more than $40 billion.
TreasurySpring has appointed Olivia Maguire as senior director of capital markets. She joins the global cash investment platform after a 25-year career at J.P. Morgan, where she managed sterling- and euro-denominated liquidity funds with combined assets exceeding $40 billion.
Maguire will work with TreasurySpring’s leadership, capital markets and commercial teams to expand the firm’s institutional cash investment products and to strengthen relationships with regulators and central banks. The company said her regulatory contacts will support its global engagement on institutional cash solutions.
At J.P. Morgan, Maguire held the role of Senior Global Liquidity Short Term Fixed Income Portfolio Manager and Trader in Asset Management. She led the sterling Liquidity Fund range and co-managed the euro Liquidity Fund range. Her portfolio work included responsibility for the Euro Government Liquidity Fund, the Japanese Yen Offshore Liquidity Fund and the EMEA Managed Reserve business.
Maguire began her career in technology and project management across J.P. Morgan’s Corporate & Investment Bank and Private Bank. Early roles saw her working on swaps and derivatives systems, electronic trading infrastructure and client portfolio rebalancing, giving her experience across trading operations and portfolio management.
She has participated in industry and central bank groups related to sterling and euro money markets. Her roles have included membership of the Bank of England’s SONIA Stakeholder Advisory Group and Money Markets Committee, involvement in the European Central Bank’s Money Market Contact Group, and service on the Investment Committee of the Institutional Money Market Funds Association, which she chaired.
Henry Adams, U.S. CEO and Global Head of Capital Markets at TreasurySpring, commented that her work with central banks and industry bodies gives her direct experience in how sterling and euro money markets operate and will inform the firm’s capital markets activities.
Maguire said institutions’ liquidity needs have changed over her career, and that treasurers continue to face the same challenge of balancing risk and return. She added that she plans to bring an investor perspective to product development at TreasurySpring.
The appointment comes as institutions and treasury teams pay increased attention to short-term liquidity management and seek regulated options for allocating cash.
