Tillo acquires Italy’s digital gift card leader Amilon
Tillo has acquired Amilon, Italy’s market leader in digital gift cards and employee benefits. The combined group expects to process more than £3 billion in gift cards in 2026.
Tillo has acquired Amilon, Italy’s market leader in digital gift cards and employee benefits, the companies announced. The transaction brings Amilon into the newly formed Tillo Group and expands Tillo’s presence across Southern Europe.
Founded in 2007, Amilon developed a digital value ecosystem connecting millions of consumers, thousands of businesses and hundreds of brands in Italy. Tillo described the deal as part of its international expansion strategy and said the combined business will serve customers across Europe, North America and the Asia‑Pacific region.
Tillo and Amilon project the combined group will process more than £3 billion in gift cards in 2026 and aim for about 30% year‑on‑year growth. The companies said the forecast reflects complementary geographic coverage and product capabilities across rewards, incentives, employee benefits and gift‑card distribution.
Amilon co‑founders and chief executives Andrea Verri and Fabio Regazzoni will reinvest in the combined company and continue to lead Amilon as a Tillo Group business. In a joint statement they said that combining Tillo’s global technology and reach with Amilon’s leadership in Southern Europe will create a platform to serve multinational clients, brands and partners.
Tillo co‑founder and chief executive Alex Preece welcomed Amilon’s team as partners in the Tillo Group and highlighted cultural alignment between the firms. Since 2025 Tillo has partnered with growth investor Tenzing through a fully secondary transaction that provided liquidity for early investors while keeping the company’s leadership team in place.
Tenzing portfolio leads Gareth Healy and Maria Tozzi Spadoni said they will continue to support Tillo and noted that Amilon’s co‑founders are reinvesting alongside them. Both companies described their operations as profitable with long‑standing customer relationships and presented the combined platform as able to offer broader solutions and technology to multinational buyers and brands across the UK, Italy and continental Europe.
Financial and legal advisers on the deal were disclosed. Tillo was advised by Clearwater Financial Services and EMC Corporate Finance, with Simmons & Simmons acting as legal counsel. Amilon was advised by Intermonte, with legal advice from Gianni & Origoni. The companies did not disclose the financial terms of the acquisition.
