Three Korean firms list Solactive-linked leveraged gold ETNs

KB Securities, Korea Investment Securities and Meritz Securities listed Gold Total Return ETNs tied to Solactive’s leveraged gold total return indices on the Korea Exchange on July 7, 2026.

KB Securities, Korea Investment Securities and Meritz Securities launched Gold Total Return exchange-traded notes tied to Solactive’s leveraged Gold Total Return index families and listed the ETNs on the Korea Exchange on July 7, 2026. The notes provide leveraged long and inverse exposure to gold under a rules-based index framework.

The new ETNs follow the Solactive Gold Total Return Index family and the Solactive Gold Total Return KRCD3M Index family. Both index families are built to replicate a hypothetical investment in the Solactive Future Series 5-Day Roll Gold Excess Return USD Index while applying defined leverage factors and an interest-rate component. The indices combine futures performance with a short-term interest-rate element and a daily financing adjustment in their total return calculations.

Each index uses a daily leverage mechanism and is rebalanced every trading day to maintain its specified leverage factor. That structure is intended to produce amplified daily gains or losses relative to the referenced futures index; it does not aim to match the index’s multi-day or long-term performance exactly. The KRCD3M family name indicates a three-month reference to short-term rate considerations that are included in the total return calculation.

The ETNs give investors a listed way to take short-term directional positions on gold without directly holding futures contracts. The exchange-traded structure settles centrally on the Korea Exchange and offers both leveraged long and inverse exposures in a familiar trading format.

Timo Pfeiffer, chief markets officer at Solactive, commented: “We are pleased to support KB Securities, Korea Investment Securities, and Meritz Securities on the launch of these new Gold Total Return ETNs. Gold remains one of the most closely followed commodity exposures among investors, and these listings reflect continued demand for transparent and rules-based instruments that provide efficient access to leveraged and inverse strategies.”

Gold is commonly used by investors as a store of value and as a diversification tool against inflation and interest-rate uncertainty. Leveraged and inverse ETNs are generally aimed at traders and investors seeking short-term, directional exposure rather than long-term holdings. The listings add to the set of exchange-traded instruments available on the Korea Exchange for accessing gold price moves.
