Stripe expands Singapore infrastructure after 10 years
Stripe marked 10 years in Singapore and expanded payments and financial infrastructure to support global companies using Singapore as a regional base.
Stripe marked its 10th anniversary in Singapore and announced an expansion of local payments and financial infrastructure to better serve global firms operating across the Asia-Pacific region.
The company said the upgrades extend payments routing, settlement in local currencies and connectivity to regional banks and card networks to reduce cross-border friction for transactions routed through Singapore.
Stripe is increasing investment in local systems and partnerships to support higher transaction volumes and lower latency for companies routing payments through Singapore to Southeast Asian markets and beyond.
Changes to the operational setup include improved settlement timing and routing logic that can direct payments to local acquirers when available and support settlement in regional currencies.
The company highlighted enhancements to compliance tooling and reporting to help customers meet requirements set by Singapore regulators and by authorities in other markets. The updates are intended to simplify tax reporting and reconciliation for firms operating in multiple jurisdictions.
Stripe described work to boost redundancy, uptime and disaster recovery. The firm added customers will see clearer options for data residency and operational control within Singapore.
The upgrades also include deeper integrations with local banks and payment processors to expand the range of payment methods available to merchants and platforms in the region.
Stripe said the expanded offering targets global companies that run regional operations from Singapore, including e-commerce platforms, software companies and marketplaces that onboard local sellers and buyers. The company noted the changes aim to help customers consolidate payment flows, reduce costs tied to cross-border transfers and speed onboarding of local sellers.
The company did not disclose financial details of the investment or specific product launch dates.
Singapore has been a hub for fintech and payments activity in the region, and Stripe’s expanded presence follows several years in which global technology and financial firms deepened capabilities in the city-state to serve diverse local payment preferences and regulatory environments.
