Standard Metrics raises $20M Series B to expand AI tools

Standard Metrics, based in San Francisco, announced on Aug. 24, 2026 that it raised $20 million in a Series B led by 8VC. The round included participation from Salesforce Ventures, Spark Capital, January Capital, First Trust Capital Partners, Socii Capital, Kindergarten Ventures, Calm Ventures and Gaingels.

Founded in 2020 to address investor relations in private markets, Standard Metrics built a platform that centralizes portfolio performance and investment data, automates data ingestion and applies AI-driven analysis to reporting tasks.

The platform supports portfolio reviews, valuations, limited partner reporting and diligence workflows. Recent product additions include AI document parsing, an on-platform AI Analyst, interoperability with MCP systems and AI-native services to assist with data operations and portfolio analytics.

Standard Metrics reported revenue growth of roughly 20-fold since its Series A. The company reported its platform covers more than 10,000 portfolio companies and about 150 firms that together manage over $400 billion in assets. Approximately 30% of members on a prominent venture investor ranking use the platform.

The company plans to use the funds to deepen its AI capabilities, hire additional staff and broaden adoption among private market investors and portfolio companies, citing investor demand for faster, more intelligent tools as private companies scale and competition for deals intensifies.

The platform competes with other data and analytics tools aimed at streamlining operations for venture capital and private equity firms.
