SPX Capital loses two senior traders in Singapore
SPX Capital lost two senior Singapore portfolio managers, Predee Anuvatnujotikul and Garret Mallal, amid a broader global restructuring.
SPX Capital has lost two senior portfolio managers in its Singapore unit. Regulatory filings show Predee Anuvatnujotikul ceased to be associated with SPX Capital Management Singapore in June and Garret Mallal did so in August.
The filings also record the earlier departure of trader Soh Yang Yao, who has since joined rival hedge fund Marshall Wace. William Bethlem, formerly chief executive of SPX’s Singapore operation, relocated to New York and is no longer listed as a financial representative for the local entity. Elsa Yachita assumed the financial representative role in January.
Company filings and the firm’s public disclosures show the personnel changes are part of a wider review of SPX’s international business. Several long-serving portfolio managers have left the firm and the London operation is being wound down. The reorganisation was under way through the first half of the year and continued into the summer months.
SPX’s website shows the firm managed more than $9 billion as of June 30. The firm had previously expanded to about $15.5 billion before recent net outflows and weaker performance reduced its assets under management.
The departures remove senior traders from SPX’s Singapore team. The firm did not respond to requests for comment.
