S&P Global data integrated into Microsoft 365 Copilot
Microsoft has integrated S&P Global’s AI-ready data into Microsoft 365 Copilot, adding a Copilot in Excel connector and a plugin for Copilot Cowork.
Microsoft has integrated S&P Global’s AI-ready data, insights and analytics into Microsoft 365 Copilot. The integration adds a Copilot in Excel connector for analyst workflows and a plugin for Copilot Cowork that lets Copilot carry out automated, multi-step tasks across apps.
The agreement connects licensed S&P Global datasets, research and analytics directly to Copilot workflows rather than moving that data into a separate AI environment. The connector and plugin allow Copilot to reference S&P content when generating responses or performing tasks inside Office apps.
Customers can access S&P Global content inside Excel, Word, Teams and other Microsoft 365 apps to perform company research, financial modeling, transcript analysis, peer benchmarking and competitive analysis while keeping the source context and traceability for the data.
Sally Moore, chief client officer and co-head of market intelligence at S&P Global, noted that the company is embedding its data into client workflows and enabling agent capabilities to help turn insight into action and speed decision-making. Bill Borden, corporate vice-president for worldwide financial services at Microsoft, described the partnership as bringing S&P Global intelligence into the flow of work so financial institutions can make faster, more confident decisions with transparency, context and traceability.
Technically, the integration attaches licensed S&P Global content to Microsoft 365 Copilot features so Copilot can reference that content when producing responses or executing tasks. The Copilot in Excel connector targets analysts who need to pull S&P data into spreadsheets and models, while the Copilot Cowork plugin supports scenarios where Copilot acts on behalf of users across multiple applications and steps.
The integration will be available to organisations that hold the relevant S&P Global licenses and Microsoft 365 Copilot entitlements, allowing customers who already subscribe to both services to incorporate licensed S&P content into their Copilot-driven workflows.
