SMCI rises after Supermicro unveils NVL4 liquid-cooled rack
Supermicro shares rose after unveiling at ISC 2026 a Data Center Building Block Blueprint for liquid-cooled racks supporting up to 1,152 Nvidia Rubin NVL4 GPUs and 576 Nvidia Vera CPUs.
At the ISC 2026 conference in Hamburg, Super Micro Computer presented a Data Center Building Block Solutions Blueprint designed for high-density AI workloads. The design uses liquid cooling and is built on Nvidia’s Vera Rubin NVL4 platform. Supermicro said a single rack can support up to 1,152 Nvidia Rubin NVL4 GPUs and 576 Nvidia Vera CPUs, and the company expects deployments in the second half of the year to match Nvidia’s general availability schedule.
At the conference, CEO Charles Liang told attendees: “Scientific discovery has always been driven by tools available to researchers, and AI has become an essential part of the research process. The institutions that accelerate infrastructure deployment will lead the next generation of breakthroughs.”
Shares rose after the presentation, moving above the stock’s 50- and 100-day moving averages. SMCI has been volatile; it is about 30% below its early June year-to-date high and about 70% above its year-to-date low. Supermicro completed a roughly $7 billion capital raise; executives said the financing package is closed.
GF Securities upgraded Supermicro to Buy with a $48 price target, citing the conference announcement and the completed financing. Analyst Evan Lee highlighted Supermicro’s role as an original equipment manufacturer for NVL72 systems used in SpaceX’s Colossus 2 data centers. GF raised its NVL72 rack shipment forecasts to 7,200 units for this year and 12,000 units for fiscal 2027, which the firm estimates would imply about $24 billion and $51 billion in sales, respectively. GF also noted a forward price-to-earnings multiple near 14 times.
Overall analyst consensus remains Hold, with a mean price target just under $36. Market discussion after the ISC presentation has focused on execution and demand for dense AI infrastructure.
