September 2026: New Canadian ETF and fund launches

Canadian exchanges listed a broad slate of ETFs and mutual funds in September 2026, including Middlefield’s MAGF and Global X’s DRAM across fixed income, income and thematic equity strategies.

Asset managers listed a wide range of ETFs and mutual funds on Canadian exchanges in September 2026. The new products covered fixed income, income-focused equity strategies, covered-call and autocallable structures, and thematic and regional equity exposure.

Issuers with new listings included Middlefield, Manulife, Global X, National Bank Investments, BMO, Ninepoint, Corton, Vanguard, CI, TD, Brompton and Westcourt. Middlefield introduced the Middlefield Alternative Global Fixed Income Fund (MAGF) and the Middlefield Global Multi-Sector Fixed Income Fund (MGFI). Global X launched the Artificial Intelligence Memory Index ETF (DRAM) along with a suite of bond and equity ETFs including the 3–10 Year U.S. Treasury Bond Index ETF (TMTX series), the Canadian Universe Bond Index ETF (AGGX), the 1–10 Year Canadian Corporate Bond Index ETF (GCIG), the Asia Semiconductor Index ETF (ACHP), the Korea KOSPI 200 Index ETF (KORX) and the S&P/TSX Capped Composite Index ETF (CNDC).

Manulife listed the All-Equity ETF Portfolio (MEQP), the All-Fixed Income ETF Portfolio (MBND), the Smart International Dividend ETF (ticker IDUV.U) and the Manulife Corporate Bond Fund (CORB). National Bank Investments brought several products including the NBI Ultra Short-Term Fixed Income Fund (NUST), the target-dated NBI Target 2032 Investment Grade Bond Fund (NTGG), and covered-call and enhanced-yield equity funds such as the NBI SmartData U.S. Equity Covered Call Fund (NUCC), NBI SmartData Enhanced Yield U.S. Equity Fund (NSUY) and NBI SmartData International Equity Covered Call Fund (NICC).

BMO listed the Strategic Autocallable Income US Large Cap ETF in multiple ticker variants (ZACU series) with an autocallable payoff structure. Ninepoint added enhanced equity HighShares ETFs including the Enhanced Aerospace and Defense HighShares ETF (EDHI) and the Enhanced U.S. Equity HighShares ETF (USHI). Corton filed two new funds, the Theta TM Alpha Fund (TPUT) and the Corton Rosenberg Global Macro Fund (ROSY). Other listings included CI Munro International Growth Equity Fund (CMIG), TD Q International Dividend ETF (TQID), Brompton Split Corp. Preferred Share ETF (SPLT.U), Westcourt Hamilton Yield Portfolio ETF (WHYP) and Vanguard’s Global Core-Plus Bond ETF (VCOR).

Fixed-income launches ranged from ultra-short products to core-plus and corporate bond index funds. Examples listed in September include Vanguard’s VCOR, Global X’s TMTX series for 3–10 year U.S. Treasuries, Global X’s GCIG for Canadian corporate bonds and NBI’s NTGG as a 2032-dated investment-grade bond fund. Several bond ETFs were listed with multiple ticker variants for different currency or exchange listings.

Income and volatility-management strategies were a notable category. National Bank’s covered-call and enhanced yield funds and BMO’s autocallable ETF were among offerings explicitly designed to generate income or provide structured outcomes. Ninepoint’s HighShares series applied enhanced-yield approaches to sector and U.S. equity exposures.

Thematic and regional equity ETFs included Global X’s DRAM focused on AI memory, the Asia semiconductor ETF (ACHP), and the Korea KOSPI 200 ETF (KORX). CI’s Munro International Growth Equity Fund (CMIG) and TD’s TQID provided additional regional and dividend-oriented equity options.
