Saldo Bank, finperks launch cashback across 1,000+ brands
Saldo Bank has launched finperks’ API in Finland, offering customers cashback and rewards from more than 1,000 European brands, with plans to expand to other Scandinavian and European markets.
Saldo Bank and finperks have launched a partnership in Finland that embeds brand-funded cashback and rewards into Saldo’s banking app. The service uses a single finperks API to give customers access to offers from more than 1,000 European brands, and the companies plan phased expansion to other Scandinavian and European markets.
The integration is live in Finland and makes offers from brands including Apple, Wolt, Zalando, Adidas and PlayStation available directly in the bank app. Cashback is applied based on customers’ actual transactions; merchants fund the rewards and finperks supplies the API infrastructure and merchant connections so Saldo does not need to build or maintain the retailer network.
Finperks is a Berlin-based API infrastructure provider that has launched services in Germany and is expanding into further European markets. The Finnish rollout is the first phase of a broader partnership that will add the embedded rewards to other countries over time.
Sebastian Seifert, co-founder and co-CEO of finperks, described the integration as a way for banks to offer a wide network of brand-funded incentives without building the marketplace infrastructure themselves: “Banks need rewards to retain and activate their customers. In Saldo Bank, we have found a partner who shares this vision and is bringing it to life in one of Europe’s most innovative markets.”
Tuomas Nenonen, Saldo Bank’s chief product officer, noted the partnership aims to widen access to rewards on everyday spending: “The partnership helps the bank democratise access to rewards and cashback from top brands on everyday spend, making our customers’ money go further — and seeing a measurable lift in engagement and usage frequency at the same time. In finperks we found a likeminded partner with a great solution: they made it remarkably easy to plug into a network of leading brands without us having to build any of that infrastructure ourselves.”
The companies did not disclose financial terms or firm timelines for further rollouts. Expansion will proceed in phases as technical and commercial agreements with local partners are finalised.
