Sage Capital selects OpenPayd to add USD, EUR, GBP rails

Sage Capital Management selected OpenPayd to add USD, EUR and GBP payment rails and issue virtual IBANs for institutional digital asset clients for faster settlement.

Sage Capital Management has selected OpenPayd to expand its banking services for institutional digital asset clients. The agreement adds USD, EUR and GBP payment rails and enables the issuance of virtual International Bank Account Numbers (vIBANs) for each client.

Under the integration, Sage will operate a USD account with SWIFT connectivity for fiat on/off-ramping, process euro payments via SEPA, and handle sterling payments through Faster Payments and SWIFT. OpenPayd’s vIBANs are intended to support precise tracking of incoming and outgoing transfers and simplify reconciliation within a single platform.

According to Sage, the expanded network will support client payment collections and fiat settlements to liquidity providers, functions used by institutions trading digital assets at scale. The firm’s client base includes hedge funds, asset managers, trading firms, brokers, corporate treasuries and digital asset treasuries.

OpenPayd described its role as providing fiat connectivity and payment routing between clients and counterparties. Lux Thiagarajah, chief commercial officer at OpenPayd, commented: ‘Institutional access to digital assets depends on being able to move money efficiently on both sides of the trade. Fiat on/off-ramping gives institutions greater choice in how they access digital asset markets, while reliable payment connectivity is essential for moving funds between clients and counterparties.’

Nathan Sage, chief executive officer of Sage Capital Management, added: ‘OpenPayd is a major player in the crypto banking ecosystem, and this strategic partnership adds further strength and credibility to our platform. Our focus remains on providing clients with fast, flexible, secure and seamless access to global banking networks, enabling clients to move quickly between fiat and digital assets, and manage payments and FX. Our partnership with OpenPayd enables us to meet the highest standards of transparency and regulatory alignment.’

Sage Capital Management provides institutional infrastructure that includes banking, liquidity access, collateralised lending and technology. Earlier this year the firm launched a banking product that gives clients named, multi-currency accounts in their own legal entities and physical and virtual corporate debit cards linked directly to those accounts.
