Rothera deploys Eventus Validus for event contract surveillance
Rothera has deployed Eventus’ Validus platform to provide trade surveillance for its CFTC-recognized U.S. event contract exchange.
Rothera has implemented Eventus’ Validus platform to monitor trading on its U.S.-based event contract exchange, which the Commodity Futures Trading Commission recognizes as a Designated Contract Market and a Derivatives Clearing Organization.
The exchange received regulatory approval earlier this year and launched its first two products on May 21. Trading on its World Cup contracts reached 3.5 billion traded contracts as of mid-July, according to Rothera.
Rothera deployed Validus to monitor trading across its event contract markets. The platform can handle both fully collateralized and margined products and includes market risk and algorithmic monitoring built for high volumes and multiple contract types. Eventus’ Frank AI has been integrated to support AI coding and algorithmic analysis within surveillance workflows.
Kevin Dan, Rothera’s chief compliance and regulatory officer, described Eventus as ‘a leader in multi-asset class trade surveillance, market risk and algo monitoring solutions’ and noted the platform’s scalability and customizable interface.
Rothera President Matt Trudeau noted the need for a system that could ‘ramp up to surveil trading for thousands of event contracts’ and said Eventus met an aggressive implementation timeline to support the launch.
Eventus CEO Cameron Routh added the company met Rothera’s expectations for fast time-to-market and regulatory readiness and that the exchange was already seeing value from the Frank AI integration.
Eventus provides trade surveillance and financial risk solutions for electronic markets. Validus combines surveillance, market risk and algorithmic monitoring in a single platform to help exchanges and firms detect trading patterns and potential market abuse. Eventus will continue to support Rothera’s surveillance needs as the exchange expands its product offerings and trading activity.
