RockawayX Seeks $150M for New Liquid Crypto Hedge Fund

Prague-based RockawayX is targeting $150 million for a liquid crypto hedge fund after acquiring Relayer Capital. Austin Barack will manage the fund and focus on tradable tokens and crypto equities.

RockawayX, a Prague-based digital-asset investment firm that manages about $2 billion in assets, is targeting $150 million for a new liquid strategies hedge fund after buying Relayer Capital, according to people familiar with the plans.

Relayer founder Austin Barack will run the new strategy. Barack previously served as a partner at crypto investment firm CoinFund and will oversee trading and asset-selection decisions for the fund.

The vehicle is being positioned as a liquid strategies product, with a primary emphasis on tradable tokens and public equities rather than long-term private investments. The strategy will concentrate on tokens RockawayX views as mispriced or undervalued, alongside stocks of companies tied to the cryptocurrency industry.

RockawayX plans to combine on-chain token analysis with conventional equity research to identify opportunities across the crypto ecosystem, the people said.

The acquisition of Relayer Capital provided RockawayX with experienced crypto-trading personnel and an existing investment platform that the firm intends to use for the new fund. The launch expands RockawayX’s activities beyond its venture-investing focus into active trading and equity exposure.

The effort follows a recent run-up in digital-asset prices: bitcoin, ether and solana each rose more than 20% over the past week, and trading volumes in the market have increased.

No formal launch date or final close timeline for the $150 million target has been disclosed. RockawayX has not released details on the fund’s fee structure, investor eligibility or specific risk-management procedures.
