Rivian raises 2026 delivery outlook after Q2 beat

Rivian produced 12,513 vehicles and delivered 12,194 in Q2, above analysts’ 11,000 estimate, and raised full-year delivery guidance to at least 65,000 from 62,000.

Rivian reported producing 12,513 vehicles and delivering 12,194 in its fiscal second quarter, exceeding analysts’ consensus of about 11,000 deliveries. The company raised its full-year delivery guidance to at least 65,000, up from a prior lower bound of 62,000.

The update was released on Thursday and prompted a rise in Rivian shares. After the report, the stock traded near the price it had at the start of 2026.

Rivian attributed the quarterly delivery increase to higher output of electric delivery vans, continued demand for its R1 truck and SUV models, and the start of customer deliveries for the midsize R2 SUV. The initial R2 offering, the Performance Launch Package, began at $57,990.

The company has expanded assembly capacity in Illinois. Management said the higher full-year guidance reflects current production trends and the early production pace for the R2.

Rivian has not yet reported sustained net profitability. Market measures cited by analysts include a price-to-sales ratio near 3.77. The consensus analyst rating on the stock remains a Hold, and individual price targets extend as high as $25.

The delivery figures arrive as Rivian faces a changing electric vehicle market. Some competing startups have reported slower order growth and some legacy automakers have adjusted electrification plans. Analysts have pointed to gasoline price volatility and the company’s product range-from delivery vans and premium R1 models down to the lower-priced R2-as factors affecting demand patterns.

Management released the quarter’s production and delivery totals along with the revised guidance. The company provided no new profitability projection in the update.
