Redhedge names former JPMorgan credit co-head lead PM

London hedge fund Redhedge has hired Pierre Morel, former JPMorgan co-head of global investment-grade and macro credit trading, as lead portfolio manager.

Redhedge Asset Management has appointed Pierre Morel as a lead portfolio manager in London. Morel was co-head of global investment-grade and macro credit trading at JPMorgan Chase during his sell-side career.

Morel will report directly to Redhedge chief executive Andrea Seminara. According to Seminara, Morel’s remit will include developing the firm’s investment business and supporting recruitment for front-office investment roles.

At JPMorgan, Morel specialised in global credit markets. His responsibilities included market-making in single-name credit default swaps on financial institutions and trading subordinated bank debt issued for regulatory capital.

His professional profile shows he left JPMorgan about a year ago. He had been preparing to retire after Nick Adragna was selected to lead the bank’s global investment-grade and macro credit trading business.

Redhedge is based in London and has been expanding its investment platform. The appointment adds senior credit trading experience to the firm’s portfolio management team.
