QQQJ Targets Mid-Cap Nasdaq Growth in AI, Biotech, Cyber
Invesco’s QQQJ ETF exposes investors to mid-cap Nasdaq companies in AI, cybersecurity, biotech and digital services; it returned over 30% in the past 12 months.
The Invesco NASDAQ Next Gen 100 ETF (QQQJ) holds mid-cap companies listed on the Nasdaq and focuses on sectors including artificial intelligence, cybersecurity, biotechnology, health-care innovation and digital services. As of July 28, 2026, the fund reported more than 30% return over the past 12 months, approximately 18.8% year to date, $1.1 billion in assets under management and a 0.15% expense ratio.
QQQJ tracks the 101st through 200th largest Nasdaq-listed companies by market capitalization, excluding firms in the Nasdaq-100. The fund’s methodology gives investors exposure to companies that are generally smaller than the largest technology names but operate in growth-oriented industries.
The portfolio’s concentration is lower than many mega-cap indexes. As of July 27, 2026, the five largest holdings accounted for 10.67% of assets. The top five positions by weight were eBay Inc. at 2.64%, Flex Ltd. at 2.10%, United Airlines Holdings at 2.03%, Revolution Medicines at 1.98%, and Elbit Systems at 1.92%.
Many companies in the fund are in earlier stages of scaling operations and prioritize spending on research, development and market expansion. The fund’s documents note that several constituents reinvest earnings or run with limited free cash flow, which can produce larger price swings during periods of market stress.
QQQJ’s design provides broader representation of sectors within the Nasdaq-listed cohort outside the largest companies. The fund’s composition includes firms building AI infrastructure, cybersecurity platforms, biotechnology therapeutics and services for health-care delivery, as well as digital-service providers.
The fund’s reported assets under management reached $1.1 billion as of July 28, 2026. The 0.15% expense ratio is posted in fund materials and appears alongside regular updates to returns and holdings.
Invesco states that QQQJ may be used alongside broader equity allocations rather than as a direct replacement for large-cap strategies. Fund documents and disclosures note that past performance is not a guarantee of future results and advise investors to review current portfolio data and risk factors before making allocations.
