Practical AI for AML: Where Value Is
Finextra and NICE Actimize will host a webinar on where AI delivers measurable value across the AML lifecycle. Nicola Eschenburg will speak; Teresa Connors will moderate.
Finextra and NICE Actimize will host a webinar to examine where artificial intelligence produces measurable results in anti-money laundering processes. The session will cover machine learning, large language models and agentic AI and their application across onboarding, know your customer checks, transaction monitoring, investigations, case management and regulatory reporting.
Speakers will address operational questions including where AI currently delivers measurable outcomes, how institutions can move beyond pilots to operational deployment, how to connect risk signals across teams and systems, and how to meet governance and regulatory requirements while introducing new tools.
Presenters will outline specific use cases such as automated adverse media checks to identify negative news linked to customers, data-driven customer risk scoring during onboarding, optimisation of screening lists to reduce false positives, alert triage to prioritise investigations, and tools that speed preparation of suspicious activity reports.
Technical discussion will cover how machine learning models detect unusual transaction patterns, how large language models can summarise case materials and extract details from unstructured text, and how agentic AI can perform multi-step routine tasks while requiring human oversight for complex or high-risk decisions.
The webinar will address integration of signals from disparate systems to produce a unified view of customer risk. Presenters will identify common obstacles such as data quality, model explainability, and the orchestration of alerts and case management across legacy platforms and newer tools.
Regulatory and governance topics scheduled for discussion include expectations for transparency and explainability in AI-driven decisions, approaches to model validation and testing, and controls to manage operational and compliance risk while retaining auditability and alignment with regulatory requirements.
The session will also compare options for developing AI capabilities, weighing the resource and time implications of building in-house models, procuring vendor solutions, or adopting a hybrid approach, together with the need for ongoing monitoring and model maintenance.
Nicola Eschenburg of NICE Actimize will speak and Teresa Connors of Finextra will moderate. The webinar is aimed at industry professionals interested in practical examples of AI use in AML and the operational and governance questions that affect scaling those applications.
