Palantir earnings could move 2x PLTR leveraged ETF

Palantir reports earnings Aug. 3 after the U.S. close. The results could move Direxion Daily PLTR Bull 2X Shares (PLTU), which seeks 200% of Palantir’s daily return.

Palantir Technologies will report quarterly results Monday, Aug. 3 after the U.S. market close. Traders often target single-stock leveraged ETFs around earnings, and attention is on Direxion Daily PLTR Bull 2X Shares (PLTU), which seeks 200% of Palantir’s daily return.

PLTU is a single-stock leveraged ETF that aims to deliver twice the daily performance of Palantir shares. The fund resets daily; that design can make short-term gains or losses larger and cause performance to diverge from two times the stock’s cumulative return when held for several days, especially in volatile markets.

Palantir shares have fallen about 30% year to date and the company’s market value is roughly $289 billion. Investors are focused on how Palantir translates artificial intelligence work into measurable results for customers. Analysts say the company’s ability to show concrete outcomes may affect both Palantir stock and PLTU price moves after the report.

Mark Giarelli of Morningstar noted: “We’re watching whether frontier model providers can replicate Palantir’s ontology. Right now, we see a meaningful delta between Palantir’s ontology and frontier model incentives. Palantir needs to deliver outcomes, while frontier model companies are incentivized to ‘burn’ tokens. With the frontier providers, positive enterprise outcomes are good for business, but less essential than it is for Palantir, the governed operating layer of the enterprise.”

Morningstar also points to international growth as a potential trigger for higher growth rates. The firm says Palantir’s U.S. revenue growth has been rapid and that wider adoption in Europe would increase revenue and improve valuation metrics. Morningstar projects Palantir’s total addressable market could reach $1.4 trillion by 2033 and forecasts average annual growth of 52% between 2026 and 2028.

Traders watching the earnings report will likely focus on revenue, margins, customer growth, product adoption and any updates on international expansion. Those items are expected to drive short-term moves in PLTR shares and in PLTU following the company’s report after the market close on Aug. 3.
