Optiver hires Alexis Le Montagner as global strategy manager

Optiver has hired Alexis Le Montagner as global strategy manager in its London office. He joined the Amsterdam-based electronic trading firm this month.

Le Montagner spent about 20 months at payments fintech Airwallex as chief of staff to the CEO, where he helped lead the company’s expansion into France and Israel.

Before Airwallex, he worked for roughly two years at hedge fund Eisler Capital in strategy and business management. He began in London focusing on plans to establish the firm in jurisdictions including Dubai, Jersey and Malta, then moved to Paris where he expanded the local operation and built a team of six portfolio managers.

He left Eisler in mid-2024, more than a year before the fund ceased operations.

Earlier in his career he spent about ten years trading derivatives at Commerzbank. He later completed an MBA and worked as a consultant at Boston Consulting Group.

Optiver has not publicly detailed the specific responsibilities of the global strategy manager role, and it is not clear whether his remit will include international expansion work similar to his previous positions.
