OpenAI has launched ChatGPT for Financial Services, a version developed with Morgan Stanley and Evercore. The product runs on GPT-6 Astra and uses indexed data from Daloopa, PitchBook, LSEG News and Crunchbase to help banking and investment teams produce research, valuation models and client materials.
OpenAI combines its latest model with data feeds that it indexes and hosts. Hosting removes the need for complex connector setups and supports features such as granular citations so users can trace figures and claims back to original sources as their analysis develops.
Administrators can configure firm templates and style guides and publish Excel, Word and PowerPoint templates through a dedicated admin page. With templates in place, teams can convert analysis into valuation models, research notes and pitchbooks formatted to their firm’s standards. OpenAI describes GPT-6 Astra as “state of the art” across information retrieval, financial reasoning and document generation.
The product integrates third-party data from Daloopa, PitchBook, LSEG News and Crunchbase and was developed with Morgan Stanley and Evercore. Other companies, including Anthropic, have released tools aimed at financial services.
Morgan Stanley issued a statement noting the partnership will allow staff to apply the technology to research, analysis and client advice. The firm wrote: “The promise of frontier research becomes real when it helps our people do the work that matters for our clients. We’re working alongside OpenAI to bring that intelligence into how we research companies, develop analysis, and prepare advice. We can test ideas together and help shape how the technology develops.”
OpenAI offers the service as a dedicated option for financial services clients and intends it to integrate with existing workflows through template and admin features. OpenAI states that hosting indexed data is intended to reduce delays and errors from linking multiple external databases and to provide auditable citations that analysts can follow back to source material.
