Nvidia and Palantir unveil sovereign AI for supply chains
Nvidia and Palantir announced a ‘sovereign AI’ system to give real-time visibility and decision support for Nvidia’s manufacturing and logistics supply chains, with wider industry availability planned.
Nvidia and Palantir announced Wednesday a “sovereign AI” system that will run first inside Nvidia’s manufacturing and logistics network to provide real-time visibility and decision support for critical supply chains.
The platform combines Nvidia’s Nemotron open models with Palantir’s Foundry and AIP software and is grounded in Palantir’s Ontology framework. Nvidia’s cuOpt will be used for scenario planning and trade-off modeling. Companies keep control of their own data and do not need to route information through a shared commercial model.
The system will surface supply constraints in real time, codify operational knowledge, speed decisions and let teams model alternatives. The AI will produce recommended actions and flag risks, while human experts retain final decision authority.
Nvidia plans to use the platform to detect material shortages earlier, evaluate alternate sourcing or production plans faster, and guide allocation decisions by showing the broader impact on manufacturing throughput.
Deployment runs on a joint reference architecture called the Palantir Sovereign AI Operating System. Dell Technologies and Cisco will support on-premises installations. Rackspace and Nebius will provide cloud and co-location options.
Nvidia manages millions of parts, thousands of suppliers and a global manufacturing network. A single Nvidia Vera Rubin server rack requires about 1.3 million parts, a scale the companies cited as a proving ground for the system.
After the internal rollout, the partners plan to offer the platform to other sectors, including agriculture, manufacturing, pharmaceuticals, retail, technology and government. Customers can post-train Nemotron models with their own data inside Foundry and AIP to adapt the system to their operations.
The two companies have worked together for nearly a year. They demonstrated a joint AI framework at Nvidia’s GTC conference in October 2025, launched the “Chain Reaction” domestic AI infrastructure initiative in December, and announced a sovereign AI partnership for U.S. government and critical infrastructure customers in June. Full details of the collaboration will be presented at Palantir’s AIPCon 11 conference.
“Nvidia has arguably the most valuable, intricate, and complex supply chain in the world.” — Alex Karp, Palantir co-founder and CEO.
“Supply chains are the operating system of the physical economy,” — Jensen Huang, Nvidia founder and CEO, who described the project as turning that network into what he called “sovereign intelligence.”
