NFU Mutual appoints Bloomberg, Clearwater for investment systems
NFU Mutual has selected Bloomberg and Clearwater Analytics to supply market data, analytics and cloud-based investment accounting for its UK investment operations.
NFU Mutual has appointed Bloomberg and Clearwater Analytics to support its investment management workflow. The agreements cover market data, analytics, investment accounting, performance measurement and reporting for the insurer’s portfolio operations.
Bloomberg will supply pricing, real-time market data and analytics. Clearwater will provide a cloud-based platform for trade-level accounting, reconciliation, performance measurement and consolidated reporting across asset classes.
The contracts apply to NFU Mutual’s in-house investment teams and to external asset managers running mandates for the insurer. The combined systems are intended to streamline daily valuation, bookkeeping and regulatory reporting, and to improve consistency of valuations across the investment book.
Implementation work will map NFU Mutual’s chart of accounts and accounting conventions into Clearwater’s platform and will configure Bloomberg’s pricing libraries to reflect the insurer’s valuation policy. The rollout will be phased, starting with the largest asset classes and expanding to cover more complex securities and external manager reporting.
Insurers and asset owners have been moving from manual spreadsheets and siloed systems to integrated, cloud-native platforms and specialist market-data providers. The contracts aim to reduce exceptions, speed up reporting cycles and support auditability of accounting records and regulatory outputs.
NFU Mutual is a UK mutual insurer that manages assets to back life and general insurance liabilities. Bloomberg LP is a global provider of financial data and analytics. Clearwater Analytics offers cloud-based investment accounting and reporting services for institutional investors, including insurers and asset managers.
