Murex brings MX.3 platform to Google Cloud
Murex has deployed its MX.3 capital markets platform on Google Cloud, enabling production use and cloud-native operations for trading, risk and post-trade processing.
Murex has deployed its MX.3 capital markets platform on Google Cloud, making the vendor’s front-to-back trading, risk and processing software available for production use on Google’s public cloud infrastructure. The deployment supports cloud-native operations and managed services for financial institutions.
The offering allows banks, asset managers and other market participants to migrate MX.3 workloads from on-premises data centers or private clouds to Google Cloud, or to operate across hybrid environments. Deployment options include running MX.3 in virtual machines or in containerized environments and integrating with Google Cloud services for compute, storage, networking and analytics.
Murex plans to provide reference architectures and technical guidance for customers moving MX.3 to Google Cloud to address performance, resilience and regulatory compliance requirements. The company will supply preconfigured images, deployment scripts and updated packaging to simplify cloud deployment, and it will offer professional services for lift-and-shift projects or refactoring for container platforms.
Google Cloud components such as Kubernetes Engine for container orchestration, identity and access management, encryption and multi-region networking can be used to support MX.3 installations. The cloud environment also supports managed services from systems integrators and partners for firms that choose to operate parts of their MX.3 estate offsite.
Firms that run MX.3 on Google Cloud can scale compute and storage independently of on-premises constraints and shift capital expenditure to operational expenditure. The cloud deployment is intended to support faster provisioning, elastic capacity and simplified infrastructure operations, and to provide options for disaster recovery and business continuity using Google Cloud’s regional and multi-region capabilities.
Murex will work with clients to validate performance and control frameworks for market data feeds, low-latency pricing, margin calculations and batch risk runs in the cloud. Testing and certification of MX.3 components on Google Cloud are included so customers can adopt production configurations that align with internal policies and regulator expectations. Integration with third-party market utilities and exchange networks remains available through private networking and co-location options.
The announcement follows a trend of trading and risk software vendors expanding certified support for major public clouds to meet client demand for operational flexibility. Financial institutions have increasingly moved non-latency-sensitive workloads, regulatory reporting, data lakes and analytics to public cloud platforms while keeping low-latency trading engines on dedicated infrastructure.
