MoonPay buys Dawn Labs, launches Dawn CLI for prediction markets
MoonPay acquired Dawn Labs and introduced Dawn CLI, an AI agent that turns plain-English trading instructions into automated prediction-market trades on Polymarket and Kalshi.
MoonPay announced on May 11 that it acquired Dawn Labs and released the Dawn CLI, an AI tool that converts plain-English trading instructions into automated trades on prediction-market platforms such as Polymarket and Kalshi.
MoonPay did not disclose financial terms. Dawn Labs was founded by Neeraj Prasad roughly one year before the acquisition.
The Dawn CLI accepts conversational strategy descriptions and executes a sequence of tasks that traders normally perform separately. The agent scans markets and news for research, translates strategy descriptions into executable code, runs backtests against historical data to estimate past performance, and places orders on supported prediction-market platforms.
Automatic backtesting runs strategies against past market data to show historical behavior. The code-generation step produces the software that executes live trades. The execution component connects to multiple platforms so a single strategy can be deployed without building platform-specific integrations.
MoonPay has built infrastructure used to process crypto payments and on-ramps, reporting more than 30 million customers across 180 countries and partnerships with over 500 enterprise clients. The company offers products such as the MoonPay CLI and MoonPay Agents, which use hardware-secured signing protocols intended to protect automated transactions.
The acquisition adds Dawn Labs’ natural-language-to-trading technology to MoonPay’s product lineup and provides a consumer-facing example of its application of AI to trading tools.
Prediction markets allow users to buy and sell contracts that pay out depending on the outcome of future events, including political events and economic indicators.
