MoonPay Adds Cash App Pay for US Crypto Purchases

Eligible US customers can use their Cash App balance to buy crypto on MoonPay and on select partner wallets including MetaMask and Trust Wallet.

MoonPay has added Cash App Pay as a payment option, allowing eligible US customers to use their Cash App balance to buy digital assets on MoonPay and through partners including Trust Wallet, Bitcoin.com, MetaMask, Moonshot, Ledger, BitPay, Uniswap, Tangem, LOBSTR and Edge.

Once customers link their Cash App account, they can complete purchases inside MoonPay’s buy flow without redirects or re-authenticating, providing a one-tap checkout experience within the platform.

MoonPay presented regulatory credentials alongside the rollout. The company holds a New York BitLicense and a New York Limited Purpose Trust Company Charter from the New York Department of Financial Services, MiCA authorization in the EU, and registrations in the UK, Australia and Canada.

MoonPay did not disclose fees tied specifically to Cash App Pay in its announcement. Cash App Pay services are provided by Block, Inc. Block has said it does not provide virtual currency services in connection with Cash App Pay.

Ivan Soto-Wright, MoonPay’s CEO and co-founder, called Cash App “where tens of millions of Americans already manage their money” and added the integration allows those users to fund digital asset purchases from an app they already use. Morgan Kuntze, Global Partnerships Lead at Block, described the company’s aim as giving customers “choice and flexibility wherever and however they choose to pay.”

The integration links a widely used consumer payments app to third-party wallets and platforms through MoonPay’s infrastructure, enabling instant funding for eligible US users who meet the platform’s requirements.
