Mirae Asset Lists 2x and -2x WTI ETNs on Korea Exchange
Mirae Asset Securities will list two ETNs on the Korea Exchange on Aug. 19, 2026, offering 2x leveraged and -2x inverse exposure to WTI crude oil futures via Solactive indices.
Mirae Asset Securities will list two exchange-traded notes on the Korea Exchange on Aug. 19, 2026, that provide 2x leveraged and -2x inverse exposure to short-term movements in West Texas Intermediate crude oil futures. The securities will trade under the tickers 520095.KS and 520096.KS.
The two ETNs are linked to the Solactive WTI Total Return 2X Long Leverage Index and the Solactive WTI Total Return 2X Short Leverage Index. Both indices apply leverage factors of 2x and -2x to a Solactive futures benchmark and are built on the Solactive Future Series 5-Day Roll WTI Crude Oil Total Return USD Index.
Solactive calculates and publishes the leverage indices intraday on each NYMEX business day. The index methodology includes an interest-rate component in its total return framework and resets daily so the index maintains its targeted exposure level over each trading day.
Solactive and Mirae Asset Securities stated the ETNs are intended to offer an exchange-traded way to take short-term directional positions on WTI crude oil futures in either a leveraged long or leveraged inverse form. The firms describe the strategies as rules-based and transparent and said the products can be used for tactical commodity exposure, portfolio diversification and inflation hedging.
Because the indices reset daily, returns measured over longer holding periods can differ from twice or negative twice the cumulative return of the underlying futures. That outcome is a common feature of products that reset leverage on a daily basis.
Timo Pfeiffer, chief markets officer at Solactive, commented: “We are pleased to announce our first collaboration with Mirae Asset Securities on the launch of these WTI-linked ETNs. With continued investor interest in tactical commodity exposure, the Solactive WTI Leverage Index family offers an efficient and transparent framework for accessing crude oil market exposure in a listed format.” A Mirae Asset Securities spokesperson added: “In response to growing demand for portfolio diversification and inflation hedging, Mirae Asset Securities is pleased to partner with global index provider Solactive AG to launch our WTI crude oil futures leveraged and -2x inverse ETNs. We value this strategic collaboration, which enables us to deliver innovative solutions to our investors.”
The listings expand the commodity-linked exchange-traded products available in the South Korean market and provide a listed instrument for investors who prefer index-linked exposure rather than direct futures positions. Index design and intraday publication of values provide the reference framework for the notes.
