Mintos launches zero-fee ETFs for European investors

Mintos adds over 1,000 UCITS ETFs with no transaction or custody fees and a €1 minimum investment.

Mintos, a European multi-asset investment platform, has launched ETF trading, offering more than 1,000 UCITS-compliant ETFs with no transaction or custody fees and a €1 minimum investment. Investors can buy and sell funds without execution costs and can start from €1.

The ETF catalogue is provided through a partnership with Upvest and includes funds from iShares, VanEck and Vanguard. Mintos said all listed funds meet the EU UCITS framework, which sets rules on diversification and transparency intended to protect retail investors.

Mintos highlighted that the fee structure matters for small, regular contributions. On many platforms a €1 execution fee on a €20 order represents a 5% cost before market movement; on Mintos the full amount is invested in the ETF.

Investors can either select and trade individual ETFs themselves from €1 per order with no custody charges, or choose Mintos Core ETFs, a set of pre-built equity and fixed-income portfolios that are automatically rebalanced and carry no management or custody fees, with a €50 minimum.

The firm said both approaches can run in parallel, allowing users to start with the automated Core ETFs and add self-selected funds without changing platforms.

Mintos plans to introduce an Investment Plans feature to let investors set recurring contributions weekly, fortnightly, monthly or quarterly and top up portfolios automatically.

Mintos referenced market figures to put the launch in context, noting European investors put a record €330 billion into ETFs in 2025 and citing a Vanguard projection that the number of European ETF investors could rise to 100 million by 2035 from about 30 million today.

Martins Sulte, CEO and co-founder of Mintos, wrote that ETFs are where the majority of European investors begin their investing journey and that the company wanted to remove barriers between an investor and their first ETF.

Mintos reiterated the fee model applies to both buy and sell orders and that there are no custody charges for holding ETFs on the platform. The Upvest partnership provides access to established international providers while UCITS compliance aims to offer regulatory protections for retail customers.
