Millennium, Point72 Rally in June as Markets Rebound
Millennium returned 4.1% in June and 10.5% year-to-date; Point72 also posted strong June gains as markets recovered from volatility tied to the Israel‑Iran conflict.
Millennium Management and Point72 posted gains in June as markets rebounded after a period of volatility linked to the Israel‑Iran conflict. Millennium returned 4.1% for the month and 10.5% year-to-date. Point72 reported strong performance for June as trading conditions improved.
Millennium, which manages about $89 billion in assets, saw equities and other risk assets recover following a brief disruption related to geopolitical tensions in the Middle East. The easing of concerns about a prolonged conflict coincided with higher market liquidity and a pickup in risk-taking across several sectors.
Point72 and a number of discretionary and multi-strategy managers benefited from the earlier spike in volatility and the subsequent rebound. Rapid price moves and wider cross-asset dislocations created trading opportunities across equities, fixed income and derivatives that managers used to generate short-term returns.
The June gains contributed to a strong first half of 2026 for several large multi-manager hedge fund platforms. Higher volatility earlier in the month and the later recovery were factors cited by managers as supporting performance across multiple asset classes.
