Millennium Management has appointed Nick Howard as a senior adviser in its London office. He joined the firm in early September after leaving Santander in late July, according to the UK Financial Conduct Authority register.
Howard will focus on fixed income and market strategy in Millennium’s London operation.
Howard began his career at the Federal Reserve. He later held senior roles at JPMorgan, Salomon Brothers and Barclays.
He then moved into the hedge fund sector, joining Rokos Capital Management, where he served as chief executive and chief risk officer.
In 2023 Howard left Rokos for Santander. At Santander he held a dual role covering senior relationship management for markets and responsibilities for economics and fixed-income, currencies and commodities strategy.
While at Santander he helped build the bank’s senior economics and markets capabilities and was involved in recruiting Antonio Garcia Pascual from the International Monetary Fund as global head of economics for Santander’s corporate and investment banking division.
Millennium is a multi-strategy hedge fund that has been expanding its London presence and adding senior industry figures. The FCA register records the dates of Howard’s departure from Santander and his subsequent appointment at Millennium.
