Millennium Hires Former Citadel Rates Trader Ravi Vinda

Millennium has hired Ravi Vinda, a former Citadel short-term interest-rate trader, for an expected portfolio management role, according to a source familiar with the matter.

Millennium has recruited Ravi Vinda, who joined rival hedge fund Citadel in July 2025 after four years at Brevan Howard. He is expected to take on a portfolio management role at Millennium, although the size of his potential allocation has not been disclosed.

Before joining the hedge fund industry, Vinda spent three years on Citigroup’s short-term interest-rate trading desk in London. He left Citigroup in 2021.

Vinda began his trading career in 2014 after graduating from the London School of Economics. Millennium will be his third hedge fund employer.

Portfolio managers at multi-manager hedge funds typically manage dedicated pools of capital and trade within risk limits set by their firms.

The recruitment comes as multi-manager hedge funds compete for macro trading talent. London-based recruiters have reported a shrinking pool of experienced rates traders, while firms continue to hire from investment banks and rival hedge funds.

The hiring follows a difficult period for some macro funds. Rising interest rates and concerns about French government debt have contributed to volatility in interest-rate and government-bond markets.
