Alexandre Yun has joined Millennium Management in Hong Kong as a senior portfolio manager. He will run a long-short equity strategy focused on global technology stocks.
Yun started at Millennium after a six-month gardening leave that followed his departure from Schonfeld, where he managed a similar technology equities book for about two and a half years.
Before Schonfeld, Yun spent roughly five months at Balyasny Asset Management working on long-short equities.
He spent 16 years at Cavalry Asset Management and rose to partner. That period represents the longest stretch of his career.
Millennium is a multistrategy investment firm that allocates capital across a range of hedge fund strategies and global markets through a network of portfolio managers. The Hong Kong appointment increases the firm’s presence in the region.
Cavalry was founded by John Hurley, who later left the investment industry to accept a US government ambassador role.
