MarketBeta’s value ETF GVUS is set to reach a three-year track record this fall after launching in November 2023. The fund returned 28.4% over the past 12 months and 18.4% year-to-date.
GVUS tracks the Russell 1000 Value 40 Act Daily Capped Index, which selects large- and mid-cap U.S. stocks from the Russell 1000 based on lower forecasted growth and lower price-to-book ratios. The fund charges 12 basis points.
As of July 22, GVUS returned 18.4% year-to-date and 28.4% over the prior 12 months. The large-cap value ETF category averaged 15.1% year-to-date and 24.5% over the same 12-month period.
The fund caps single issuer weights at 22.5% and applies an overall cap of 22.5% to all issuer weights above 4.5%. Holdings include capped positions in broad-market names such as Apple and notable exposure to the healthcare and financial sectors.
Funds that reach three years can present three years of performance data. Some brokerage platforms add ETFs to their listings after a fund attains a three-year track record.
GVUS uses a value screening approach to provide U.S. large- and mid-cap value exposure while applying issuer caps to limit concentration.
