Marex launches FX and metals liquidity hub for prime brokers

Marex launched a liquidity aggregation platform that combines FX and precious metals prices from multiple dealers into a single executable stream for professional investors.

Marex has launched a proprietary liquidity aggregation platform within its prime brokerage business that consolidates live prices for foreign exchange and precious metals into a single executable pricing stream for hedge funds, asset managers and other professional investors.

The platform pools live quotes from tier-one and specialist dealers into an aggregated pricing engine. An execution system modelled on smart order routing provides anonymous access to different liquidity pools through a single prime brokerage relationship, so clients can access multiple pricing sources without setting up bilateral dealer agreements.

For hedge funds, Marex linked the platform to its cross-asset prime brokerage infrastructure. Portfolio-level cross-margining allows clients to offset exposures across positions, which can reduce capital requirements and improve balance-sheet utilisation. Trading access is provided together with custody, clearing, settlement, confirmation and reconciliation services under a single counterparty.

Clients can connect reporting and operational workflows for FX and metals with Marex’s existing infrastructure for equities, fixed income, futures and derivatives, giving a consolidated view of positions and post-trade processes and reducing the number of counterparties and operational touchpoints.

Marex described the system as providing ‘deeper liquidity, tighter pricing and more streamlined execution, while integrating with clients’ existing trading workflows.’ Marex added the architecture delivers an executable stream and anonymous routing to help secure the best available prices across participating liquidity pools.
