Lendable secures $670M to fund global expansion
Lendable raised $670 million to scale lending, improve underwriting and expand into new international markets, the company announced.
Lendable announced a $670 million financing package to back plans to scale lending operations and enter new international markets. The capital will support growth of the firm’s loan book, investments in technology and underwriting, and expansion beyond its current markets.
The funds come from institutional investors and structured financing arranged in recent months. Lendable did not provide a full breakdown of funding sources and expects to deploy capital across product development, risk-management systems and local market teams as it expands outside its existing footprint.
Company executives said the financing will increase origination capacity and strengthen the balance sheet to support higher volumes of consumer and small-business lending. Planned uses include enhancements to data-driven underwriting and automation, expanded marketing and distribution in target markets, and local partnerships for loan servicing and compliance.
Part of the funding will support liquidity needs as originations scale, which the firm expects will reduce reliance on short-term funding lines. The company intends to phase deployments based on market-by-market assessments and regulatory approvals and will announce rollout plans as those processes are completed.
Lendable operates a digital lending platform that pairs investor capital with consumer and small-business loans. The firm launched with an emphasis on alternative data and automated credit models and has expanded its product offerings and investor arrangements to increase funding capacity for originations.
The $670 million raise follows growth in demand for fintech credit platforms that combine technology-driven underwriting with institutional funding. No specific timeline for market entries or hiring targets was provided; the company plans to provide further updates on geographic expansion and product launches when plans are finalized.
