Kybix launches KYB data-exchange platform
Kybix launched a platform for banks, payment firms and regulated companies to share verified business identity and compliance records to speed onboarding and reduce duplicate checks.
Kybix announced a KYB information exchange platform designed to let banks, payment providers and other regulated firms retrieve verified business identity and compliance documents instead of repeating full verifications for the same corporate customers.
The exchange gathers structured business data, including incorporation records, ownership details, licences and prior compliance checks. Stored attestations are time-stamped and show who performed a verification and when it took place.
The platform is built to work through application programming interfaces and standardised data formats so partners can connect it to existing onboarding systems and case-management tools. Access controls and an audit trail are included, and contributors can set rules about which counterparties may view specific items.
Kybix intends a phased rollout that begins with pilot partners in the financial and payments sectors before broader commercial availability. The company described the design as aiming to reduce verification time while keeping records that auditors and regulators can inspect.
Security and regulatory alignment are central to the platform. Kybix described encryption in transit and at rest, role-based access and recording consent where required by law. The company plans to work with participants to align data sharing with regional privacy and anti-money-laundering rules and to support obligations for identifying ultimate beneficial owners and ongoing monitoring.
Kybix will maintain provenance metadata to show the source and verification method for exchanged records but has not defined liability rules for errors or omissions in contributed data. Firms that consume attestations will need to determine what additional checks are necessary to meet their own compliance policies and regulator expectations.
Shared utilities for business identity verification have been increasingly discussed as regulators step up scrutiny of corporate accounts and cross-border transfers. KYB checks commonly require incorporation documents, shareholder registers and verification of controlling individuals, and they can be repeated by multiple institutions unless attestations are reused.
