KraneShares Lists KAIT ETF Targeting Asia AI Technology
KraneShares listed the KraneShares Asia AI Technology ETF (KAIT) on the NYSE on Aug. 19, 2026 to track the Solactive Asia AI Technology USD Index and target Asian AI infrastructure firms.
KraneShares on Aug. 19, 2026 listed the KraneShares Asia AI Technology ETF on the New York Stock Exchange under the ticker KAIT. The fund tracks the Solactive Asia AI Technology USD Index and offers exposure to companies across Asia that support artificial intelligence development and deployment.
The ETF was developed with index provider Solactive. It targets firms involved in semiconductors, memory, data center infrastructure, networking equipment, AI servers and manufacturing, and semiconductor capital equipment. The aim is to capture companies with measurable business exposure to segments that support AI systems.
Solactive builds the underlying index by selecting candidates from the Solactive GBS Global Markets All Cap USD Index that meet regional, size and liquidity rules. Eligible companies must be headquartered, located, or primarily listed in Taiwan, Japan, South Korea, China, Hong Kong or Macao. Each constituent receives a Thematic Relevance Score that measures business exposure to specific AI technology segments, including advanced foundry and packaging services, high-bandwidth memory, optical communications and AI networking hardware, data center power and thermal systems, AI server design and systems integration, semiconductor capital equipment and test systems, and materials and specialty chemicals for AI semiconductors.
Index weights combine free-float market capitalization (20 percent) with thematic relevance (80 percent). Individual company weights are capped at 8 percent. The combined weight of companies with weights above 5 percent cannot exceed 45 percent. The index is rebalanced each quarter to reflect changes in market values and thematic exposure.
Timo Pfeiffer, chief markets officer at Solactive, commented: “We are pleased to collaborate with KraneShares on this launch. At Solactive, we focus on delivering innovative and relevant index solutions for our clients. This index reflects Asia’s important role in the global AI value chain and demonstrates our ability to translate specific client needs into targeted and transparent product solutions.”
Jonathan Krane, founder and chief executive officer of KraneShares, added: “We believe Asia plays a foundational role in enabling the global AI buildout, with leadership across many of the most capacity-constrained and technologically complex segments of the value chain. Working with Solactive as our index provider, we are launching KAIT to provide investors with targeted access to the companies and regions we believe will drive the next phase of AI-driven growth.”
The listing adds to existing ETFs that provide sector- and region-specific exposure to companies supporting AI infrastructure across major Asian markets.
