KB Securities, Securitize sign memorandum on tokenized securities

KB Securities and U.S. digital securities firm Securitize signed an MoU to explore issuing, managing and distributing tokenized securities for institutional and retail investors.

KB Securities and U.S.-based digital securities firm Securitize recently signed a memorandum of understanding to cooperate on the issuance, management and distribution of tokenized securities and related digital-asset services.

Under the agreement, the firms will explore joint development of platforms and processes for security token issuance, custody, secondary trading and compliance. The memorandum covers technical integration, regulatory coordination and potential pilot projects to test tokenized products and distribution channels in South Korea and overseas markets.

The companies plan to focus on regulated offerings for institutional and retail investors, including possible tokenized equity, debt and alternative-asset offerings. They will also examine infrastructure for post-trade processes and investor services and run joint tests of issuance and custody workflows.

KB Securities is the brokerage and investment banking arm of KB Financial Group. Securitize operates a digital securities platform and a technology suite used to issue and manage tokenized securities, and provides tools for transfer restrictions, compliance and investor onboarding. The partnership aims to combine KB Securities’ local market access and distribution capabilities with Securitize’s tokenization technology and operational systems.

The memorandum includes information sharing on legal and compliance frameworks and coordination with regulators as the firms design products that meet Korean rules while allowing cross-border investor participation. The companies did not commit to specific product launches or timetables in the MoU.

The agreement comes as financial institutions and issuers evaluate tokenization to speed settlement, enable fractional ownership and broaden access to private assets. Securitize has previously worked with issuers to tokenize a range of assets and operates tools for lifecycle management of digital securities. KB Securities has pursued digital finance partnerships and technology initiatives to expand its product mix beyond traditional brokerage and underwriting services.
