Jump Trading expands Hong Kong office at One IFC
Jump Trading is taking an additional 11,000 sq ft at One International Finance Centre and plans to hire quantitative trading and AI staff as equity and IPO activity rises.
Jump Trading is expanding its Hong Kong presence by taking an additional 11,000 square feet at One International Finance Centre. The firm will add a new floor and increase the area it occupies on another floor, and it plans to hire staff for quantitative trading and artificial intelligence roles.
The Chicago-based proprietary trading firm is increasing its footprint at One IFC to accommodate more trading and technology personnel, according to people familiar with the matter.
A representative for the firm declined to comment.
The expansion follows a pickup in trading volumes and a stronger pipeline of equity capital markets work in Hong Kong, which has driven demand for more trading infrastructure and local staff, according to the same people.
Other international trading firms have increased office capacity in Hong Kong; Jane Street agreed to lease six floors at the Central Yards development, and Qube Research & Technologies signed a lease at Two International Finance Centre.
The added space and planned hires will provide additional capacity for trading desks and technology teams in Hong Kong as equity and IPO activity rise.
